Farhadi ‘Everybody Knows’ to open Serbian filmfest

‘Everybody Knows’ by Iranian Oscar winner Asghar Farhadi is to open the 35th edition of Dunav Film Fest in Serbia.  

Farhadi's latest offering will go on screen with feature films from Spain, Germany, France, Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Ukraine, Slovenia and Serbia in the presence of several directors from the Danube Region.

‘Everybody Knows’ charts the story of Laura who travels with her family from Buenos Aires to her native village in Spain. An unexpected event twists the plot.   

Real-life couple Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem star in the flick, with a cast that includes Ricardo Darin, Carla Campra, Inma Cuesta, and Barbara Lennie.

Dunav film festival features films that premiered at major European festivals.

The event is to take place on August 18-23 in the ancient castle of Smederevo, eastern Serbia.
